What a fantastic weekend for the Sanda Kickboxing Academy team at the 2026 Sanda Nationals!
Our five athletes gave everything they had and produced some brilliant performances, coming away with an incredible 3 Gold medals and 2 Silver medals.
Matthew Takes Gold in His Full-Contact Debut
At just 18 years old, Matthew competed in the adult full contact division for the first time. He faced two tough opponents and produced two dominant performances.
Matthew showed excellent confidence and composure throughout both bouts, controlling the fights and demonstrating how much his hard work in training has paid off. He finished the competition with a well deserved Gold medal.
Harriet Wins Gold on Her Full-Contact Debut
Harriet also made her full contact debut and put in an outstanding performance.
After weighing in at 63 kg, Harriet was unable to find an opponent in the 65 kg category, so she stepped up to compete in the 70 kg division.
Despite the significant challenge, Harriet rose to the occasion. She combined excellent kickboxing with throwing techniques, showing the full range of skills that Sanda demands.
Her performance earned her a Gold medal.
