Sanda Kickboxing Academy Makes International Debut in Sweden
Our first intentional comp!
Sanda Kickboxing Academy recently took an important step forward by competing in our first international competition in Sweden. Representing our club on the world stage was a proud moment and a valuable learning experience for our athletes and coaches.
Strong Performances Against International Competition
Our athletes faced high-level opposition from across Europe. Ivor delivered an excellent performance, securing a win against a strong German opponent and narrowly losing a closely contested bout against Morocco. Harriet also put on an impressive display, fighting the host nation Sweden in a match that was decided by the smallest of margins.
This was our athletes first performance on the international stage they did incredibly well and rose to the challenge. Ivor record stands at 4 wins and 1 loss and Harriet 3 wins and 1 loss. They are both new to competing and have both progressed incredibly quickly. They both have a lot to work on but we are looking forward to continuing to push forwards in 2026.
Learning and Growing on the World Stage
International competition provides a level of experience that cannot be replicated at home. Stepping outside our comfort zone and testing ourselves against high level athletes is essential for long-term development in sanda kickboxing. Challenging ourselves in this way is how we continue to raise standards, improve performance, and represent our club and local community with pride.
Looking Ahead to 2026
This competition marks just the beginning of Sanda Kickboxing Academy’s journey on the international circuit. The experience gained in Sweden will directly shape our training, preparation, and competition strategy moving forward.
We are already looking ahead to 2026 with renewed motivation and clear goals: to continue developing our athletes, strengthening our programme, and returning to international competition stronger, sharper, and more confident. With us looking to compete in Milan in March of 2026!
