What is Sanda Kickboxing?

Sanda Kickboxing is a modern combat sport that has its roots in traditional Chinese wrestling. It is a uniques martial art that has a strong emphasis on combining wrestling techniques with kickboxing.

Stepping on the Mat

Walking into a new gym is always intimidating. Are the people nice? What will I learn? There will be a million unknowns walking into any martial arts gym for the first time.

Fortunately at Sanda Kickboxing Academy we have a supportive environment and will do our best to make you feel welcome in your first class. In your first class we will help give you a feel for what our club is like and what Sanda Kickboxing has to offer.

Learning Skills & Earning Progress

This is were the journey of self development and confidence building starts. You will need to face physical and mental challenges if you want to develop you skills, martial arts are not easy and you will regularly be pushed outside of your comfort zone and need to overcome many failures to reach your potential. I remember one of my old coaches used to say ‘the only reason I am better than you is because I have failed more’.

As your skills improve and you gain confidence in your abilities you will start to realise that in order to learn you need to fail. You can then take this mentality and apply it to other facets of your life. Start trying new things and having the confidence to realise that you will fail but it is part of the journey and at the very least it won’t be as bad as being thrown on the floor in a Sanda class!

The Role of Community

At Sanda Kickboxing Academy we take pride in our community. It is a positive, inclusive team environment, our students will help support you on your journey and as you get better you can do the same for other beginners starting their kickboxing journey.
